Free SEND training to support schools

As part of the review of SEND training for schools, Warwickshire County Council is pleased to announce the following free training to all Warwickshire schools:   

Youth Mental Health First Aid - 2-day course

Training for one member of staff per school to be a Youth Mental Health First Aider. Accredited and conducted by Mental Health First Aid England. Primarily for primary and secondary schools although infant school applications will also be considered.

Youth Mental Health Awareness - half day course

Accredited through Mental Health First Aid England. Available for two staff members per school.

Restorative Practice - 2-hour introductory course

An introduction to restorative and relational practice for school staff. Understand the benefits of developing a common restorative language and how working with and alongside people can improve outcomes for families. Dates available from Sept 2022 – Jan 2023. All sessions run from 3.30pm - 5.30pm.

Autism Education Trust

Tier 1 training is free to all schools and can be delivered to whole schools/teams in one session virtually or face to face.
