What does the new education inspection framework mean for further education and skills providers?

You may be interested to read one of Ofsted's latest blog posts from Paul Joyce, Deputy Director for Further Education and Skills, talking about the new education inspection framework (EIF) and what this means for further education and skills providers.

He talks about what this means in practice, including how inspectors will be spending their time and what will be expected of managers and staff during an inspection and the kinds of information they will need to provide.

The two key areas of change highlighted below are discussed in more detail in Paul's blog:

  • Shorter/clearer reports making it easier to understand each provider's strengths, areas for improvement and what makes them unique
  • Employer View and Learner View surveys revised in line with new framework - all providers are expected to make these online surveys available when notified of an inspection
