New EYFS Reforms: Curriculum Design Training
Growing an Early Years Curriculum based on your school’s context, values and children
The new EYFS Reforms, to be implemented for all schools in September 2021, provide schools with a huge opportunity to take full ownership of the early years curriculum and ensure it aligns with future learning. Warwickshire LA has been working with the ‘Early Adopter’ schools this year and this training takes that leaning into account.
Whilst this session is not ‘The Warwickshire Way’ - there is no prescribed approach in the new EYFS. It will take a step-by-step approach to building a curriculum, looking at examples of:
- EYFS Vision – ensuring this sets out to achieve ambitious goals
- Curriculum Intent – how to define key outcomes and looking at progression in learning
- Implementation – including both curriculum design and pedagogy
- Impact – focusing on assessment and evaluation of children’s outcomes and the curriculum
Following the session, a copy of the ‘Growing an Early Years Curriculum’ document, which relates to the course content and includes examples of progress models, will be sent to delegates.
