Dear Headteachers,
I had the pleasure of visiting Sydenham Primary School this week and was delighted with the very enthusiastic tour given to me by the young people in Year 6 who spoke so positively of the school and their aspirations for transitioning to secondary school. The school had such a nice atmosphere, which you got just by walking in and I could get a great sense of the fantastic work staff are doing for their young people. My thanks for the invite and tour.
I also met with the chairs of the Primary Consortia and was very grateful to receive feedback on how we can communicate better with schools and what the common challenges are. We were able to discuss strategic issues such as the upcoming SEND strategy, fair access and how we can utilise the great work of our school leaders to have a joined-up and strategic approach to our work with young people across the County.
There are many great building blocks of excellence here in Warwickshire and I am looking forward to progressing on this journey.
