Welcome to the June issue of Heads Up.
I am delighted to be back with you in Warwickshire following an interesting period spent with the Department for Education. I look forward to meeting up with colleagues during the headteacher meetings over the remainder of the term.
We have liaised with Christine Quinn, the Regional Schools Commissioner, and as a result the rearranged Primary Headteacher Business Meeting will take place from 1–4.30 pm on Monday 17 July. Further details will follow shortly.
This month we have a focus on the School Improvement Service providing you with information on the development of a school led system, the education challenge board and area analysis groups. More information can be found in the 'School Improvement' section.
In this issue we have a feature on advice and support from community leaders on managing tensions following the recent events in London and Manchester and news about the Warwickshire Parent Carer Forum (formerly Family Voice Warwickshire).
I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind you of our governors section which contains useful information about our Governor Conference and training events. Please could we ask Headteachers and Chairs of Governors to ensure that all governors receive a copy.
Don't forget to follow our Twitter account @wcc_schools to ensure you receive the latest updates from Warwickshire County Council's Education team.
It is great to see that the number of Good or Outstanding schools in Warwickshire now stands at 90%. We are always keen to hear about your successes and achievements, so please don't forget to send in your news for our July issue to schoolpartnerships@warwickshire.gov.uk.
