HEADS UP

Dear Colleagues,

This week Ofsted released a report on the use of alternative provision for primary age pupils. It is of interest and reflects some of the issues that we are collectively working through. Some of the good practice to support pupils and reduce the need for alternative provision was highlighted at the Headteacher Autumn conference last month.

Alternative provision for primary-age pupils in England: a long-term ‘destination’ or a ‘temporary solution'? report.

This week's headteacher briefing had a session from Trish Kinsella, a colleague in the Council working in HR, covering a number of topics:

  • Green Book pay
  • Teachers pay
  • NEU strike ballot and support staff
  • Census data

Further information will be sent out to schools from the HR team and this will also go into Heads Up when released. If you require any further support with issues arising, please don’t hesitate to contact the HR or School Improvement Team.

Best wishes

Chris Baird

Interim Assistant Director for Education Services.
