Heads Up 10 February 2023

HEADS UP

Dear Colleagues,

We are currently running two consultations on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Home to School Transport Offer and also the Council's SEND Service offer. Feedback from families is that they would like some further summary information and more time to have their say. The consultation has been extended a couple more weeks as a result, so please do promote this wherever you can.

I draw your attention to the Child Friendly Warwickshire competition, both to ask you to promote this yourselves and also to serve as a reminder of what a fantastic initiative this is for Warwickshire, to encourage you if you have not done so already to participate.

I am pleased to share with you the latest copy of Warwickshire Safeguarding's News Bulletin (volume 5).  The Bulletin serves to provide a brief insight into recent publications, forthcoming events and links to useful resources.

Finally, I am letting you know that Marie Rooney will be leaving for pastures new in April 2023. Marie is taking on an exciting opportunity as Principal of an all age school. Marie joined Warwickshire over four years ago and since then Marie has played an important leadership role in Warwickshire's developments as part of the SEND and Inclusion team which included the bid for a new free school. We wish Marie well in her future work.

Best wishes

Chris Baird

Interim Assistant Director for Education Services.
