Heads Up 8th March 2017

HEADS UP

Welcome to the March issue of Heads Up which coincides with Apprenticeship Week.

Our focus this month is on 'School leaver destinations'. We have pulled together information to advise and signpost schools to support that can be accessed to help ensure that all young people go on to a positive destination. This includes information about apprenticeships, free NEET and risk of NEET re-engagement activities, careers support, work experience advice and key deadlines for schools in relation to the Key Stage 4 Destination Performance Measures.

There are also some important notices about changes to critical incident support and details of how you can apply to become a Leader of Education in Coventry, Solihull and/or Warwickshire.

Our governors section is proving to be an effective way of communicating key dates and messages to all school governors, following feedback received through a recent survey. We are aware however that governors might not always have easy access to the internet so please could we ask Headteachers and Chairs of Governors to ensure that all governors receive a copy.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind you of our upcoming Headteacher's' Briefings in March, a full agenda for which will be emailed to all schools soon. Dates, venues and how to book can be found in our 'Save the Date' section.

We are always keen to hear about your successes and achievements, so please don't forget to send in your news for our April issue to schoolpartnerships@warwickshire.gov.uk
