HEADS UP

Ian BuddWelcome

Welcome to this week’s edition of Heads Up.

I have greatly appreciated the opportunity to meet many of you at various meetings and events over recent weeks. Thanks to all of you for your warm welcome since my return to work following a stroke. This week my latest really positive visit was to Dunchurch Infant and Dunchurch Boughton C of E Junior Schools, accompanied by Councillor Hayfield. It was great to see so many end of year and transition activities in full flow. I look forward to meeting many more of you in your schools in the Autumn term.

I have seen already during my short time here lots of excellent practice in Warwickshire, and I am really keen that we take the chance to celebrate good news stories and achievements from settings and schools. We can celebrate and share your practice in Heads Up, as well as on Twitter and our internal newsletters. It is wonderful to hear of good ideas and practice and to be able to share them with others helping to disseminate positive ways of working. With this in mind, please do send news, pictures and articles to headsup@warwickshire.gov.uk.

This is our penultimate edition of Heads Up before the end of term so I would also like to encourage you to follow @wcc_schools on Twitter for the latest information and news in Warwickshire education during the summer hiatus.

I appreciate that you will all be in the midst of end of year activities and so this week, in our ‘Ethical Leadership’ section, instead of setting a new dilemma we have shared how the pathfinders are starting to address dilemmas in partnership with the Ethical Leadership Commission, to give you some food for thought over the summer about how you might get involved.

With best wishes

Ian Budd
