  • Thursday 3 March 2022- South Warwickshire area

The sessions this time will include:

  • The Virtual School Enrichment offer -  activities that are taking place for Children Looked After - arts, cultural and academic activities to support and inspire our children
  • An introduction to the Virtual School training event - Understanding Children in the Social Care System
  • Creative ways and good practice for gathering student views to inform the PEP - examples for all ages and abilities

Designated Teacher (DT) training

Following the positive feedback from this year’s DT training. We know that many were unable to attend due to staffing and factors within schools. We are, therefore, offering the Virtual School elements of the training as a half-day session on the 7 April 2022 either from 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm to be held at Pound Lane, Leamington. This training is for all DTs and DT Supports, not just those new to the role. This is a good opportunity to network with others and share good practice. The session will be delivered by the Virtual School Education Advisers with a focus on:

  • What makes a good PEP meeting?
  • The impact of PP+, interventions and use of EEF
  • The importance of high aspirations and longer-term career goals
  • Using strengths difficulties questionnaires (SDQs)

To book your place(s), please email virtualschool@warwickshire.gov.uk confirming which training session, name and email address of the delegate. A link to the online training will be forwarded to the email address given, a few days prior to the training.
