DWP jobs of the future event - 26 May 2021
The Department of Work and Pensions are going LIVE with an MS Teams Live Event on 26th May!
They would like to invite you to their ‘Jobs of the Future’ MS Teams Live event on Wednesday 26th May 2:00-3:00 pm.
They are taking this session West Midlands wide and will be covering Years 7-11.
They will be covering:
- Previous Industrial Revolutions.
- The affect Covid has had on our workforce
- Emerging and declining jobs
- Preparing the students for their future careers and how Artificial Intelligence plays a part
- Where to research labour market changes
- Why it is important to keep on learning, even after school!
Please can you let them know if you wish to attend the session, by replying back to mercia.supportforschools@dwp.gov.uk by COP on 25th May, with the name of the teacher/s, and their email address and also the year group and number of students that will be are attending the session. Can you please put in the subject heading of the email ‘Jobs of the future’?
They will then send you the MS Teams link to join the session.

Opportunities through Adult Community Learning (ACL) courses
ACL are able to offer courses to refresh people's Maths and English, Money Management, and ICT skills in a number of ways – long and short courses, as well as workshops and day schools.
They have offered personal development courses in Mindfulness and Self-Care, Art for Well Being, Communication Awareness and Creative Writing, to mention just a few subjects. They can create bespoke course offers as part of CPD programmes for teams, too.
They offer a comprehensive Family Learning programme to support parents in learning with their children and understanding their development.
