Working Together Charter for Warwickshire SEND
The working together charter has been developed through collaboration between Warwickshire County Council, Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board, Warwickshire Parent Career voice and IMPACT (the young people’s forum for SEND in Warwickshire).
The aim of the charter is to set out a commitment to ensuring the voices of families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are heard in the development and delivery of SEND services. It is hoped that the Working Together Charter will guide the local area work to provide services that meet the needs of children and young people with SEND, their families, and the wider community. It will also help to create a culture of effective participation, where the voices of children and young people with SEND are heard and valued.
As Early Years setting, we can look at the Charter and ask ourselves the following questions:
- What do you do every day to include families not only in the life of their child but the work you do?
- How do you include children?
- How do you know it works?

Joyful June 2023
This month's theme is all about finding the joy in life, even when things are difficult.
Research has shown that experiencing positive emotions in a 3-to-1 ratio with negative ones leads to a tipping point beyond which we naturally become more resilient to adversity. So let's train our brains to find the joy. You can learn more about the science behind this at our events this month too
Spread the word about dog safety
Leading animal welfare organisations have teamed up to produce a shareable infographic to encourage safe interactions with dogs.
Recently we’ve seen several tragic dog attack fatalities, so it’s paramount that families are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to enjoy spending time with their dogs safely.
The Canine and Feline Sector Group Dog Safety Code highlights three crucial messages that all dog owners and families need to know:
Be alert – Always keep an eye on your dog around kids. Never leave them alone together
Be aware – Dogs use signals to tell us how they feel – What is your dog telling you?
Be safe – Any dog can bite. Accidents happen fast.
