Launch of teacher resources to celebrate the Commonwealth

The Department for Education (DfE) has recently launched a new resource for teachers, aimed at helping them to inform and explain the importance of the Commonwealth to their pupils.
The new toolkit has been produced for 11 to 14 year olds and contains information on the Commonwealth and its values. A range of classroom activities has also been produced relating to topics including citizenship, geography, general studies and history.

Events to support schools in removing unnecessary teacher workload

The DfE, in collaboration with school leaders and teachers across the country, is running a series of events to showcase work that is currently being done to effectively reduce teacher workload. Events will include a presentation from a keynote speaker and an opportunity to participate in workshops led by serving teachers and leaders.

These events are for leaders from all types of schools and for members of governing boards.
