Are your ratios correct?

Ratios are not just about numbers of staff to children – have your staff got the full and relevant qualifications to ensure that you are meeting the statutory requirements for the EYFS?

Pages 23—27 of the EYFS 2017 set out the statutory requirements that all childminders, PVI settings and schools must meet.

If you have staff who started their qualifications pre-September 2014 you can check to see if they are full and relevant here:

For staff who started their qualification after September 2014 you can check qualifications are full and relevant here:

More detailed guidance on qualifications can be found on here:

Ofsted reading deep dives - sessions with Kirsty Godfrey, HMI

Little Sutton English Hub are delighted to welcome Kirsty Godfrey, HMI and subject lead for early reading, to deliver a webinar

'Deep Dives in Reading - What has been learnt so far'.

The session will run on 17th May and again on 24th June 2021 3.45 - 5pm.

This is a valuable opportunity to hear about what to expect in a reading deep dive, how to prepare your school and what high quality reading provision looks like.

This session is relevant for all Senior Leader, Reading Leads, Phonics Leads and teachers and will offer practical advice and examples of good practice identified by Ofsted from school visits.

They are expecting a high demand for this event and are encouraging schools to book early to avoid disappointment.
