This session, led by one of Pilot Theatre’s highly-skilled artists, will share approaches to teaching ‘Noughts & Crosses’ by Malorie Blackman, using Sabrina Mahfouz’s* adaptation of the text. The session will explore extracts from the play text, the theatrical realisation of the production, and examine social justice issues related to its themes.

*This edition of the play is a set-text for the Eduqas GCSE Drama syllabus. Whether you are studying this adaptation, another version, or thinking about studying it in future, the activities will be applicable to all teaching needs.

The workshop coincides with Pilot Theatre’s national tour of ‘Noughts & Crosses’, which will be at the Belgrade Theatre between 24-28 Jan, 2023. The production was a finalist for ‘Best Show for Children and Young People’ at the UK Theatre Awards in 2019.

Free of charge and open to all teachers KS3-5, support staff and trainee teachers based in Coventry & Warwickshire.
