We hope you will join us at our Autumn Term Headteachers Conference, which is taking place at Stoneleigh Park on Tuesday 22 October 2019, 9am to 3.30pm.

In the afternoon, we will launch our renewed approach to Early Help in support of the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and young people. There will be practical advice and support, together with sharing of great family support practice.

We will also be hearing from Ivan Humble whose fascinating story shows how restorative narratives have the power to transform lives: not only supporting people to move on from harm or trauma, but also building a climate of tolerance, resilience, hope and empathy.

This is a free CPD and networking opportunity.

Improvements to WES HR and Payroll Service

Last month we talked about our commitment to making improvements to our service (read this here).  Your feedback about the new starter process in Your HR being too long was loud and clear and before the summer break we rolled out a functionality for you to input your new starters via EAD, or we would pull them through from SIMS.  If you missed that update you can view it here.

The good news is 18% of schools who had new starters in September used the new methods.  We want the other 82% of you to enjoy the benefits of this new functionality!

Did you know:

  • Entering new starters via SIMS or EAD can be done during the payroll lockout?
  • They can’t be submitted with missing information so your Payroll Officers have to make less checks before they run the payroll?
  • Time and expenses claims can also be entered during the payroll lockout?
  • As a result we have already reduced the payroll lockout by one day?

It’s to our mutual benefit that all schools use SIMS or EAD because the more that do, the more we may be able to reduce the payroll lockout further so if you want to know more, please get in touch. weshrandpayroll@warwickshire.gov.uk
