Supporting Inclusion for SEND and Vulnerable Groups

SEND Inclusion Guidance – Opportunities to give your views

As part of the SEND and Inclusion Change programme, it is exciting that the SEND Inclusion Guidance will be launched In September.  Following the review of the SEND Provision Matrix (School age), the Warwickshire SEND Inclusion Guidance is being developed in consultation with practitioners and parents, and promotes Warwickshire’s inclusive, needs ledethos in supporting young people with SEND in mainstream schools.  Its purpose is to help schools to implement effective extra support for young people who are not progressing at the expected rate, at the Graduated Response level.

Produced as a web-based document, the Guidance is designed to enable relevant information to be found quickly and accessibly. Before the SEND Inclusion Guidance is launched, you are invited to participate in a school staff focus group to explore the Guidance, and most importantly, to gain your feedback and views.  School staff,  including senior leaders, SENCOs and class and subject teachers are welcome to contribute.

Help shape a new Mental Health and Wellbeing service for young people

As part of its SEND and Inclusion Change Programme to improve the lives of young people in Warwickshire, Warwickshire County Council is looking to develop a new multi-agency service focusing on supporting young people with their mental health and wellbeing.

The council is working with PeopleToo to help shape this service and are interested in hearing from young people and parents/carers living in Warwickshire. To aid this they have produced two surveys to gather thoughts and feelings around what a new service could look like and how it could make a difference.
