Brand new gaming festival comes to Leamington Spa

Interactive Futures is a brand new three-day gaming festival coming to Leamington Spa in 2019.

Spread across three days from 31st January to 2nd February, it will consist of an exciting and insightful lineup of speakers, exhibitors and interactive sessions aiming to inspire the next generation of creative talent in the local area. 

Talks will cover topics such as tips for securing roles at AAA studios, how to become a gaming influencer and the different roles available in the games industry and will be presented by representatives from some of the largest game studios in the country including Playground Games, Sega, Ubisoft and Codemasters.

Hands-on sessions will appeal to students of all ages and will be bookable via the website soon. These will include:

Hands-on activities including Virtual Reality headsets, programming Lego & robots creating animations

BAFTA Young Game Designers Teacher/Parent Workshop

Learn tips and tricks on how to get your class involved in Game Concept and Game Making. Resources are aimed at encouraging 10-18 years old to enter the competition and will provide them with all the information they’ll need on the game design process.

BAFTA Young Game Designers Game Concept Workshop (ages 10-14)

Whether you love to code, draw or write the story, BAFTA YGD gives you an insight into the world of game-making and a chance to meet game developers in the UK Games industry.

  • Raspberry Pi Minecraft Workshop
  • Pixelheads Dash - design your very own videogame characters and put them to the test with Pixelheads Dash
  • Mobile Hacking Lab - Coventry University will provide their mobile hacking lab for people to experiment with
